St Brendan’s AC will host the Tom Kelly 8K on Sunday 11th January 2026 in memory of one of St Brendan’s AC founding members, Tom Kelly.

This is the fifth year of this event. Tom was coach and club dynamo for the first 10 years and inspired both adults and juveniles with his exemplary work over the years.

This race has now become an annual event in Tom's memory. We look forward to welcoming you all to Ardfert again this year for this event. It is always a great day and walkers and runners are welcome.  Medals for all participants. Category trophies also awarded on the day from junior category to 070+

St Brendan’s AC will host the Tom Kelly 8K on Sunday 15th January 2023 in memory of one of St Brendan’s AC founding members, Tom Kelly. This is the second year of this event.

Tom was coach and club dynamo for the first 10 years and inspired both adults and juveniles with his exemplary work. His work helped to make St Brendan’s AC the top club in Kerry for 10 years in a row. Tom passed away in 2020 and his family gratefully allowed this run to be promoted in his memory.

Entry available on the day.

The race start time is 9:30 am. 

The race start is adjacent to Ardfert Cathedral (eircode V92 KR7P) and the finish line is at Ardfert National School (eircode V92 CD63).

Number collection and late registrations

Number collection will be available on Saturday evening between 6:30pm-7:30pm in Ardfert Community Centre (eircode V92 H0FE) and on Sunday morning 8:00 am-9:00 am in the same location.

Late in person registrations are available on Saturday and Sunday at the same time as number collection.

If possible, we request that locally based runners and walkers should collect their race numbers on Saturday evening.

Parking

Parking will be available on Sunday morning from 7:45 am at Ardfert Recreation Centre with overflow into Ardfert Medical Centre. These parking locations are located in the middle of the village and are 5 minutes’ walk from the start line and 5 minutes’ walk from the finish line

V92 EKX9 is the eircode for the Ardfert Medical Centre, which is adjacent to the Ardfert Recreation Centre. When driving into the An Fearann Estate please follow the signage for Ardfert Recreation Centre (ARC) for parking there. Patrons should respect residential parking and no parking within the An Fearann housing estate itself.
